Been wearing in my new iPod my wife got me for Xmas - going very nicely. 2000 songs in my pocket.
Is it any good? Oh yes, bearly taken it off since I got it. Synchronising with the iMac in the house is seamless. Creating playlists is easy. I just need to earn more money to go and buy more music now!
Talking of things Mac, caught a bit of the Steve Jobs speech/presentation at MacWorld, SF the other day. Jobs manages to capture the imagination where computers are concerned and has the ability to enthuse his audience. The only trouble is that his audience is - more often than not - already the converted. Apple geeks from all over travel to hear what he has to say.
I am an avid Applephile but thought that Jobs giveth with one hand, whist takething away with the other. New laptop ranges - Apple declare 2003 the "year of the notebook" - but no new power increases on the desktop ranges. "Turbo-browser" for OS X released to really get to grips with your Mac internet browsing, but iLife app bundle (iPhoto, iDVD, iMovie and iTunes) to be sold at $49, previously free for download.

Welcome to 2003. I hope your time spent during the holidays was as pleasant as mine. My son got a Gamecube for Xmas (from me, so I have buyer's rights to using it) and my daughter celebrated her 1st birthday with small party in the house. Bouncy castle photos up on the gallery very soon.
Others in Edinburgh were celebrating too! Some 200,000 people in Edinburgh's Princes Street gathered to see out the old, and in the new at the biggest party in the world. 4 arrests, mostly resulting from drinking a tad too much wine.
Glasgow's answer? 20,000 gather in the Square - 49 arrests, a hndful of stabbings and 1 man in hospital fighting for his life. Hmm, the East-west divide!
