It's Tuesday - and that's training day. Trouble is that I haven't trained since giving up playing rugby 3 years ago!
Refereeing needs you to be fit - but no reason for the same physical contact as playing.
However, I have promised myself that I will get fitter - for reffing as well as just to get fit. So, training it is.

Got sent this today, I'd heard something on the news about it, but never actually seen the image. The chap must be so proud of being able to sit next to the Queen. Yes, that's right, the gentleman to the left of the lady in the middle as you look at the pic. "How do you know it is a gentleman?", I hear you non-Scots ask, "They're all wearing skirts". Well, look a little closer...

Saturday morning and no refereeing today - the 2 games that were scheduled for me to do have both been called off.
With an air temperature of 1 degree C, most of the pitches around Edinburgh are frozen.
Still, rugby on the television this afternoon as Scotland take on South Africa at Murrayfield. Will be a tough task - no the 100-point bonanza against Japan last week!

'mon Scotland!!!

I think my wife may be finally coming around to the benefits of ebay - the UK's (and indeed the World's) online marketplace. Not, you understand, from any "share the wealth" or "recycling" point of view - No. But more from the "thanks Christ you're getting rid of all that crap!" angle.

Regardless, I have had success in liberating (from my own hoarding clutches) some choice items which, inexplicably, someone else needs and/or wants. I wonder how many other-halves out there are weeping at the sight of more clutter dropping in the mail?

So, no more old Mac OS's which I have been holding onto for so long. No more GBA SP Docking Station I bought ahead of buying the actual GBA SP, only to find that my son "don't really want one anyway and won't it be better to jump over to the new PSP, dad - eh?". Hmm, familiar ground for me - defending the electronic underdog. Apple, Nintendo - no, I did not get a Betamax, but did think that quality was much better than VHS. Phew, managed to dodge that bullet :-))

If I can sell more than I buy, I think that both I and my family will be thankful. Let's see, that petrol-powered scooter looks cool...
