Catching up on some reading and came across this from Apple.
Team Banzai, one of 40 teams to advance to the national semi-finals of the 2005 DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) Grand Challenge, developed “Dora” — the world’s first fully-autonomous vehicle driven by Mac OS X.

The team selected a brand new 2004 stock Volkswagen Touareg to make the 175-mile mission over desert terrain without any human assistance. Commercial and proprietary software running on Apple Mac mini computers using Mac OS X provided means for all the software development, scenario simulations, data analysis and vehicle controls.

Brilliant!!

Beginning to regret going training last night. It was a good laugh, but sometimes I think that the decision to retire from the game 3 years ago was a good one.

Needless to say, I am felling a bit stiff this morning. Still, you have to start somewhere, and with the vicious rumour that Lismore is putting out a 3rd team, this may be my season :-))

Didn't see Mike though! After the strains of his honeymoon, he was obviously a bit stiff too >:-) Never mind, a good day(s) was had by all at the wedding on Skye. The Flodigarry Hotel was an ideal venue - even if it did take me 9 hours to drive home the next day.
